Our final outing

 Today we walked to town to find the candy cane we had decorated for the Rotorua Christmas tree.  We were very lucky to be treated to a Starbucks drink when we got there - thanks Mrs Bradley.

Week 10

 Last week of term for 2020!  I will be very sorry to say goodbye to the lovely students in Room 1 but wish them all the best for 2021.  I could not have wished for a nicer class.



Have you borrowed a Room 1 hat?  They have all gone missing and need to be returned.  Please check your bag and look at home to see if you have one. 


After prize giving on Tuesday we will be walking to the Christmas tree in the city centre to find our candy cane!  You MUST wear your hat and apply sunblock before we leave.  The weather forecast is for a hot sunny day.  Thank you to the adults who have offered to accompany us. 



Middle school are running a fundraiser on Monday and Tuesday during lunch selling iceblocks for $1.00

As mentioned in last week's messages, we have a lot going on this week - Tryathlon on Monday, Prizegiving on Tuesday and Missioning of the Year 6 students at 11am on Wednesday, which is also the last day of term. Students need to be picked up at 12.30.

Togs & Towel 

  Signs will be put out on the day letting you know where each class is to put their bikes / scooters.

You may like to put something on your child's bike to help them identify it when they come into transition.

Week 9

 

As we all know, Peter Pan is on this week. Everyone has taken home a note regarding show times and all other important information.  Please have your costume at school on Monday as there will be a full dress rehearsal.  More tickets are now available for all Peter Pan Shows. Ticket can be bought from the School Office for $5.00

Show Date Information For Families

Tuesday 8th December at 1:00 pm

Children from Rooms: 1, 3, 5, 15, 17 and Kakano 1, 2, 3 are performing.



Wednesday 9th December at 1:00 pm

Wednesday 9th December at 6:30 pm

Children from Rooms: 2, 4, 12, 14, 16 and Kakano 4, 5, 6, 7, 8  are performing.



The main cast are performing in all four shows. ALL main cast actors need to be at school at  5.30pm.  All remaining cast please be at school at 5.50pm. Children need to meet in their classrooms, changed into their costumes.

 


We have some other events in Room 1 this week. On Thursday, the classroom will be open to visitors from 8am-10am.  Students will be able to show their whanau what they have been doing this term. 

 

We are collecting goods to put in Christmas Hampers for needy families and also food items we can donate to St Vincent de Paul’s Foodbank. If you have food items you can donate please get your child to bring them to class or they can put them under the tree in the foyer.

 


The school is publishing a school magazine again this year and this will be available during the last week of this term. At this stage there will only be 100 magazines printed. It will be a great memento of 2020. We sold out last year. Orders are taken now with the cost for the magazine being $10.00

After morning tea on Thursday we will be preparing (and eating) our shared Christmas lunch.  Everyone must bring a plate/bowl, a cup or mug and cutlery.



Friday is the end of year Mass at 9am.  Everyone is very welcome to join us.  It is a special Mass for the students in year 6 in particular.



Coming up: Next Tuesday (15th December) we will be walking to the city centre to find our candy cane on the big Christmas tree.  I need one more adult to walk with us so please let me know if you are available.  We will leave after Prizegiving.

There is a lot going on next week - Tryathlon on Monday, Prizegiving on Tuesday and Missioning of the Year 6 students on Wednesday, which is also the last day of term.  Can everyone please bring in a plastic or paper bag to carry home all their belongings in week 10. 

 

 

·         Holiday Reading Information is being sent home this week. Children can immediately start entering the books they are reading or books that have been read to them.

 

·         And finally a heads up regarding purchase of sports tops. For all sports, except Netball and Basketball, you will be required to buy your own shirts for the 2021 season. PE shirts can be purchased from our School’s Uniform Shop.
